A quick post...

So, everyone at work got the 'you better be working hard' talk earlier this week, hence the lack of posting in an effort to keep my job.

Anyways, here's a big rundown of what's been going on with me.

Rite Aid: I practically live there as I have picked up numerous prescriptions in preparation for next weeks "procedures". Big ups to them though for getting me a script for $8.99 and not waiting for stupid Aetna to approve it.

Aetna: As I said, stupid and annoying (as I am sure most insurance companies are) The amount of paperwork and hassle that has gone into the two tests I am getting done next week is ridiculous, it's not like I'm trying to launch a spacecraft!

Etcetera: My clothes came last night via hand delivery, THANKS N! They are even more beautiful than I remember them two weeks ago...and just in time for the wedding next weekend, perfect!

TJ Maxx: Another amazing Lilly find (super cute white and silver shift for $79.99) yay! I think I will wear this to the races in Saratoga in August as well as maybe to the 4th of July dinner at the club, yahoo!

Isagenix: Our big box with 9 day cleanse systems came yesterday. I plan starting mine on May 11th, but I'll keep you posted! The literature sounds promising!

Weekend: Nothing planned except a trip to take the lawn mower to the repair shop and a trip to Target for seltzer water (it's the only place I can find the brand I like, which I believe is their house brand). I am thrilled at our lack of plans as all I am looking forward to is sleeping!

Mr. Pit: Amazing as usual. He made me a surprise dinner last night and it was perfect and exactly what I needed after a long day of work and an out of town training.

Lil' Pup: He now has complete run of the house and is doing great. We will put his crate away in a couple of weeks because we don't want to stress him out, but it is SO nice to know that he can get up and stretch and walk around and the house isn't trashed when we get home. Such a proud Mama I am :)

Me: I am feeling ok...none of my 'symptoms' have gone away, and I have major anxiety over both 'tests' I have next week (I am terrified of needles, so the fact that I have to get 2 IV's next week is not ideal) but I am looking forward to getting them done and over with and hopefully they will show SOMETHING so that we can deal with the problem and make it go away.

Anyways, back to the grindstone!

Hope all is well, XOXO Mrs. Pit

Furry (Tuesday?)

Meet Henri!

Henri is a Cockapoo who is looking for a new home, maybe you can help?

I don't know much of Henri's story, but with a face that cute, who cares where he came from as long as he can go home with you!

Most people pay thousands of dollars for dogs JUST LIKE HENRI, and here you can do a good deed and bring home a pure bred dog, for free!!! And then, who doesn't love shopping? That's exactly what you'll get to do as soon as you bring him home since he'll need a new collar, lease, food bowls, crate and all the toys he's ever dreamed of!!

Henri is one of many that need adopting at Main Line Animal Rescue, go check him out this week!

A roller coaster of a weekend...

OH my goodness is all I can say about Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. The above picture is The Griffon, and also my new FAVORITE roller coaster. I sat ALL the way on the right on the front row, and it was completely amazing, as was the rest of the weekend.

The trip down was great, we hit absolutely no traffic around Baltimore, DC or Richmond, and we were at the pool even before our friend J made it back from work! Friday night we ordered pizza and took a lot of really goofy photos but we made it up early on Saturday and were at the park at 10:30!

We rode every coaster once (the lines got pretty long in the afternoon) and it was a great time. Saturday night was really low key and J's husband P and friends grilled for us girls and it was a perfect end to a really fun day.

Then yesterday we were in the car by 11:30 and I was home by 5 for my Moms birthday dinner, so all in all it was a great trip!

This week is pretty low key for us, Mr. Pit has a project due on Tuesday but otherwise I am free as a bird, and luckily I don't even have any doctors appointments this week! I have to take two entire days off the first week of May, so I am going to enjoy this complete work week and get as much done as I can before I am out of commission for the tests.

Anyways, I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, how could you NOT with this amazing weather!?!

And, I know I didn't post a Furry Friday like I said I would, so it will be coming to you later today, I promise!!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Baby Names...

No, I am not pregnant, but it seems like everyone in the blog world is...crazy!

Anyways, just a small rant and then I'll be on my way.

1st, if you want to name your kid while still in utero...good for you. HOWEVER, that should be kept to yourself. It is old Jewish lore that as soon as you name the child (in utero or otherwise) that child has a soul, and if you utter that name aloud, you are alerting the Nit-Gute to your childs presence, and your child is no longer safe.

Read HERE to learn more about the Nit-Gute and it's history.

More importantly, folk lore or not...as soon as you name the child, you are opening yourself up to MONTHS of (probably) unwanted conversations and LOTS of opinions on that name. Believe me, I have a LOT of opinions on EVERYTHING, names included. If a name is the same as someone I don't like...done, off the list. A celebrity I don't like...done, caput. Seriously, I could cross off thousands of names now and I am a long way from being a mama.

Don't get me wrong, I know EXACTLY what I will name my first born son, or daughter, if they are twins, two girls, two boys, one of each, triplets...I have it down...but guess what...NO ONE knows that except Mr. Pit and that's how it's going to stay until that child's first wailing entrance into the world.

I don't know, it's probably just me, I just get annoyed at people who name the kids and then refer to them incessantly. Call it the bean, the bun, the bump, call it little whatever...don't call them by their names, it's creepy.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua...a recap

So, I forgot to tell you in the last post, that the evening was capped off with a movie, and that movie my friends, was BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA.

The premise of the movie is simple...a pampered Beverly Hills Chihuahua is lost while her dog-sitter is vacationing in Mexico. Alas, a search is made and it all ends well, thank goodness.

***Attention...do NOT continue reading unless you are ok with me spoiling the plot****

What the previews FAIL to tell you, is that Chloe actually kidnapped by a dog fighting gang.

This to me was astounding and I think I would have been quite upset to bring small children to this movie. Dog fighting is a very real and very scary reality for a lot of dogs in this country and others, and I am very surprised that Disney would even get into this territory...but they did have some notes and information at the end of the movie of where and how to rescue a dog from a shelter and all that good stuff. What they failed to mention was horrible truth that many of today's dogs face when they are 'rescued' by the wrong people.

I am fairly certain that Lil' Pup was rescued from a dog fighting ring where he was used as a 'bait dog'. This is one of the most horrible things I think you can ever do to an animal and I was a little upset that Disney put an almost theatrical spin on this issue (at the end they show the 'bad guys' getting thrown into the police car) but you don't really know if they are being arrested for stealing Chloe, or for running the dog fights.

These poor dogs are used to fight until they DIE. It is literally dog eat dog, and these poor animals are being used against their will to fight for their own life day after day. I was horrified when I learned about the Michael Vick ring, and my ideal punishment for him would be to tie HIM to a tree (like they do the bait dogs) and let his own dogs attack him and have him die like that. Seriously, he deserves no better death than that.

Anyways...I know I got off topic. I liked the movie (the soundtrack is really good) I just thought the message was a bit jumbled as they tried to keep it younger for their target audience.

In closing, dog fighting sucks, and if you participate or remotely enjoy this kind of thing, please don't come anywhere near me or my dog. Thanks!

Power of positive thinking...

So yesterday's appointment went as well as expected...I got a lot of head tilts and 'huh's' from the doctor and the appointment ended with...'well, from what you described I really have no idea, so we'll schedule these 4 (4!!!) tests to see what's going on and go from there'. AWESOME.

After that I checked off Test #1 by going to get blood taken. The mere thought of this is enough to put me in a cold sweat and give me heart palpitations, but I was very brave (if I do say so myself) and the blood taker girl was phenomenal. I told her I was 28 going on 5 when it comes to stuff like this, and to please not tell me when anything was going to happen as I think the anticipation is the worst part. So, we just chatted about dogs and the weather and before I knew it she was done and I was on my way. BIG UPs for Bryn Mawr Hospital blood takers, they are totally awesome and had me laughing all the way out the door.

I don't know when I am going to schedule tests 2, 3 and 4, but I have to take entire days off for 1 of them as I have to get fully sedated...so I have to talk to my boss first. I will keep everyone posted on the tests and how they go, as of now I have completely stumped 3 doctors...maybe I should go see Dr. House?

Anyways...as annoying as yesterday afternoon was, it was capped off with a family dinner on the porch at The Merion Cricket Club where we got to watch a thunderstorm pass right over the grass courts and it was really cool! We got to see the sky go from light to almost black back to light and the lighting was so bright it was like the entire place was taking a flash photo at the same time. Plus, since my parents had to burn their ENTIRE minimum for the quarter last night I got to eat Duck Quesadillas for an appetizer and then had the Filet for dinner, yum!!

What's really keeping me going though is knowing that tomorrow night I will be in Williamsburg with some of the best/funniest/coolest people I know and the whole weekend will be a blast.

I will also post a Furry Friday post later this afternoon as I won't be on the computer at all tomorrow or the entirety of the weekend. Till then!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Another day, another doctor

Hi friends,
well, my doctors appointment went well yesterday and it turns out doctor #2 does not agree at all with what doctor #1 thought, and has now sent me to yet another doctor (3#). That appointment is today at 2:45 so it's another short day at the office, which is both fun (yay, early get out!) and not, because I have to ask my male boss for yet another afternoon off (and since I have only been here for 2 weeks I feel like I'm pushing the envelope) but then again, it's my health and I can't go to work just because I feel like I should...urgh. Anyways, my head is up since diagnosis #1 was really not a good one, so now that it's MOSTLY ruled out I feel much better. We'll see what #3 says and go from there. Oh, and don't worry, I already have an appointment with #4 on Friday morning before I go down to Williamsburg. Good times.

On a lighter note, Happy Earth Day! There are lots of "green" and earth friendly sales and deals going on today...if you buy anything from Lilly online today they will donate 10% of the purchase price to your local zoo...so go, shop, save the grranimals!!

MUST SEE MOVIE

EARTH opens nationwide today and I MUST go see it. Besides being a total softy for all things dog related, I am pretty much an animal lover through and through and can't wait to see this movie.

I was also obsessed with Planet Earth and watched every episode so this is right up my alley. Too bad we are completely booked until next Monday at the earliest. Look for us at King of Prussia that night, the 7:15 showing is looking good :)

Click HERE for reviews from Rotten Tomatoes. I have a love/hate relationship with this site as it is LOADED with ads that just get in my way, but otherwise I think the reviews are handy and it has loads of links to things like IMdB and other fun movie sites.

Go see this movie, who doesn't love roll-y poll-y polar bears and their cubs!?!

Overcast...

Not much going on today friends, besides a not-so-fun doctors appointment later this afternoon. One small plus is that I get to leave work early, the downfall however is that well, I end up at the doctors office which is my 2nd least favorite place in the world, number 1 being the hospital.

Also, we got some not fun news from friends yesterday that our friend S had fallen from his barn roof and hit his head really badly and was in the ICU for an indeterminate amount of time, so that doesn't exactly have me gushing with joy. His wife says he is doing better today, but his short term memory is still not up to par and he can't figure out why he is in the hospital.

So, today is low key for me, going to try to get a lot of work done and off my desk and then I'll skedaddle from here at about 3:30.

Still looking forward to what the weekend brings (the forecast says 84 and sunny for Saturday, yee haw!) so hopefully the week will get sunnier from here on out.
Have a great day!!

Best Email Ever

I just got the following email:

From: Netflix Delivery
To: Preppy Pitbull
Subject: Your next film to be delivered

BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA

This makes me ridiculously giddy (I know this movie will stink but I love the idea of singing dogs like none other, and I have had the song "aye, Chihuahua" in my head since I first saw the preview when I went to see Wall-E.)

This makes Mr. Pit ridiculously unhappy, since he knows I will make him watch it with me.

Ah, Netflix, how I love thee!

Just another manic Monday

Hi friends, so coming off the amazing weather that we had this weekend, this rainy Monday is the opposite of awesome, but since I'm stuck at work anyway it doesn't really matter.

I had a great weekend and since it's a 4 day work week for me, it's even better :)
Friday night my friend M came over for pasta and wine and we had a great discussion over boiling water and jars of tomato sauce (hey, I never claimed to be good at cooking!) and it was a great way to start the weekend off right. M will also be involved in the upcoming weekend adventure, but more on that later.

Then Saturday I slept in with Mr. Pit (well, I slept, Mr. Pit was up at 7 for some unknown reason) and met my Mom at Agnes Irwin for their Spring Shops. The shops were great and they had SO much cute stuff!! I also got to meet the awesome KAG and she was so friendly and fun to talk to! I also ran into another friend who now does her own stationery...you can check her out at Linda and Harriet . I LOVE her stuff!

After that I went to go see the Etcetera line and OMG...I spent WAY more money than I should have, but it felt SO good to try on really really well made clothes and know that I would get a TON of use out of this stuff! I will see if I can pull some images off the web (everything seems to be flash these days and I don't know how to get it on here!) but I am thrilled that I came away with a dress that will be perfect for the wedding we are going to in 3 weeks (Tropical, item #77 on their Spring Looks 2009 line), as well as two tops that I think will get some great mileage this summer!

THEN...(I know, busiest Saturday ever) Mr. Pit came home from his golf tournament, with a prize! At first I thought it was just a 'thanks for competing thing' and it turns out he won THE WHOLE THING!! First place! Mr. Pit's name will be painted on an official plaque that hangs at the club for the whole place to see! I was SO proud of him and he was a smitten kitten the whole night. Apparently the first 9 holes were iffy, but then he says he got into a groove and just could do no wrong. Totally awesome. We celebrated by barbecuing whole foods burgers and sitting on the deck with cocktails.

Sunday was a lot more low key with Mr. Pit playing yet another round of golf (he won his heads-up match as well!) and me staying home, playing with Lil' Pit and making good progress on my needle pointing project. I am about 55% of the way through, so it looks like a birthday belt for Mr. Pit is indeed an option!

Then for dinner last night we headed to my family's house for our usual Sunday night take-out festivities and returned home to watch Amazing Race and go to bed early. A wonderful weekend all around.

And, for the grand finale of this post...I am going to Williamsburg this weekend with my high school friends and I couldn't be more excited. J and her husband P live down there, so J, M and I are headed down to ride all the roller coasters at Busch Gardens as we can in one day and then hit up the outlets on the way home. I am taking Friday off to drive down there and I couldn't be more excited. I don't spend nearly enough time with these friends and I am really happy to be able to ride in M's new car as well (a tricked out Santa Fe!) We'll be riding in new-car smell rocking out to our iPods and XM radio and generally acting about 15 instead of 29...but I am giddy like a kid on Christmas to get this weekend here asap.

Furry Friday!

Hi friends,
well, it's another gorgeous day in Philadelphia, and we're even have a barbecue at work at lunch time to celebrate the spring weather :)

Meet Paulie. Paulie is a boxer that is currently at Main Line Animal Rescue, and Paulie is deaf, so he really needs our help. Below is his bio from the MLAR website, take a look and go see Paulie this weekend! If only Lil' Pit didn't enjoy being an 'only child' so much, you know I'd be over there in a second to scoop him up!

Paulie is deaf. What he lacks in one area he more than compensates for in others. In a word, Paulie is simply "sweet." He loves to sit in the sun. He seems not to be interested in barking at passersby or in becoming overly excited with his neighbors in the kennel. Paulie bonds with his human contacts quickly and is interested in learning his new "sign language." He is easy to train, eager to please and takes his treats ever-so gently. He is expanding his "vocabulary" quickly. Right now, Paulie has learned a sign for "good boy" and will offer a "sit" without prompting. He does have a signal for "sit" and for "down." He likes to use the agility dog-walk in the playground and he is always up for a game of tug-of-war. He seems to enjoy other dogs. Paulie is currently working on his leash and door manners and is making good progress every day. He keeps his inside run neat and clean (perhaps he is housebroken or close to it). Paulie's fave way to spend a happy day is when an MLAR Volunteer sits on the floor where he can crawl up and lie across their lap. He loves to cuddle and give kisses.

Go check out Main Line Animal Rescue's site by clicking HERE or check out your local SPCA for an animal needing rescue :)

Have a great weekend!!

Here comes the sun...

YAY! It is FINALLY sunny in Philadelphia!

Of course that lead to some AWESOME traffic this morning with people figuring out that they can indeed accelerate through sun glare...and then an accident near Penn didn't help either, but I got here on time regardless.

Anyways, today is a short day at the jobsite due to elevator training at another jobsite starting at 2...that's right...elevator training...you're jealous of my job right now aren't you?! ha.

I might actually join the gym tonight too...though I've been saying that for 3.5 months now and it hasn't happened, we'll have to see. We also just got a new Wii game (Shaun White Snowboarding) and it is yet to be played by me, so that might have to work its way in to the nightly activities as well.

In bigger news...I got the Lilly catalog last night and I want to order EVERY single item, no joke.

I also saw that they now have a diaper bag. I told Mr. Pit that it was really cute and how adorable it would be to get that when we have kids...his response "well, let's have kids so you can get it!"...I mean, seriously, do I have the cutest husband ever? I will let you know if the diaper bag desire leads to anything else...as of now I am still overwhelmed at the thought of it, but it certainly is appealing! (not the bag, the kid part...I'm not THAT shallow!)

Enjoy this sunny weather friends, and don't forget to enter the great giveaway posted below!

I also want these pants since they may or may not be named after Mr. Pit :)

Um...spring...hello? Are you there??

These bloggers, man I tell ya! They are SO incredibly generous I can't even describe.

Mrs. Newlywed over at Misadventures of a Newlywed is giving away a super cute striped towel with your monogram on it. Seriously to die for cute. I am entered myself, phew!

Not that I can even IMAGINE laying out right now as it is day #2 of 40 something degree weather and rain...lots of rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be 60 and sunny, but I won't believe it until I see it, and hopefully I will :)

It's been pretty quiet over at the Preppy Pit house lately, Easter was great and now we are back in to our regularly scheduled routine of Mr. Pit at class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Lil' Pup and I have the house to ourselves. Last night I was in bed at 10:15 and it was glorious. I woke up feeling fairly refreshed this morning despite the rain, and I am willing this day to go by quickly.

This weekend Mr. Pit has a golf dinner on Friday, followed by the opening day golf tournament on Saturday afternoon. I am choosing to go see the ETC clothing line (my personal appointment is at 2) and I am really excited. Check out their website HERE to get a preview of the clothes, and then you can schedule an appt with a local representative. My friend N is the newest rep in our area and I am really excited for her to start this new venture.

Anyways, back to work for me, have a good day!

I am getting close to 100 posts, and I will do one too...and since there are only 10 people who read this on a regular basis, you have a great chance of winning!
Anyways, go check out Preppy in the City and enter her giveaway!!

oh, and btw, I HATE the weather we are having in Philly at the moment...but the news says we're supposed to be 70 and sunny both Friday AND Saturday, so hopefully that is true :)

Happy Easter!!
It is a cold Easter Sunday here on the Main Line, so instead of wearing a little Lilly shift I was forced to wear last falls sweater dress, but paired with pink shoes and a pink quilted jacket it worked just fine.

Lunch at the club was fabulous as always, and I even got Mr. Pit to wear his orange Lilly pants and his new Lilly tie that I got him at last falls warehouse sale. He looked absolutely darling if I do say so myself.

There were TONS of little kids at the lunch today, and I have to admit that I can't wait to have kids so I can dress them up for Easter! They had SO much fun 'hunting' for eggs and they all ran around like banchis looking for extra jelly beans that are on all the tables before lunch is served.

The whole day made me smile...hope your Easter was as happy as ours :)

I also apologize for no Furry Friday, the day ended up much busier than I had anticipated, but I will post either later tonight or tomorrow, so stay tuned!

I want these...

That is all :)

Busy Little Bee

Hi guys,
well, the new jobsite has me stunned, exhausted and exhilarated all at the same time. Stunned because there is SO much going on (we have 8 superintendents and 6 yes 6 managers working on this project and EVERYONE is busy...insane). Exhausted because I now get up an entire hour earlier than I used to, and now I drive too and from the city, so I have to keep my brain turned on for even longer so I don't drive off the road! And finally, exhilarated since it's an amazing project and fabulous to put on my resume.
Also, I ran into two old co-workers on my way to deliver something to the Owner today, and that was really nice. It was a full 30 seconds (they were on their way to a training of some sort) but it was nice to see friendly faces...plus, they work on the project RIGHT next door to mine, so we're going to have lunch sometime soon!
Lastly, Mr. Pit has a tiny little hiatus from class today (total bonus that he is getting his MBA from a Catholic University, they have off for Maundy Thursday) so I actually get to have dinner with him tomorrow (and M and C) so it'll be a little party!
Anyways, gotta run since I really shouldn't be blogging at work but I had to check in and say hi!
Hope all is well, and don't worry, I WILL be posting for Furry Friday, so stay tuned until then!
Oh...and Lilly is having a deal tonight at all of the stores for the PINK moon that comes out tonight (something about it being the new moon of spring or something) but there will be sales...and prizes, so go check it out!

Lion Fail

I just saw this on Fail Blog...poor puppy! Someone thinks he should be a lion instead of a dog!

L-O-N-G Day

Hi friends,
well, I started at my new position today (same company, I just went from the estimating side to the engineering side and I am now on a jobsite). My day starts at 7am. I was told today that it's frowned upon to leave before 5, and really 5:30. Holy long day Batman...I haven't worked this long in a long time! (my first jobsite out of college was similar) So, that is why I couldn't blog during the day today since it was day #1 AND my desk and computer face the entire office, so I couldn't be seen on blogspot my very first day!

Anyways, I think this will be good for me, and the long hours won't kill me, Mr. Pit or Lil' Pup since we all need to keep our heads down and work through this lovely little thing called a recession.

In other news 3 out of my 4 ebay items sold (which is really good for me, my stuff just doesn't sell for whatever reason) and the steal of the day, I mean STEAL...were the McKim sandals that I priced at 49.99 thinking that they would go shooting about $100...well, no. A lady got them for $54...therefore I LOST money on the deal...wtf? I thought I was being smart by pricing them so nicely, but I guess Mondays are not great days to have auctions end. Oh well, live and learn.

I am home now (there was surprisingly little traffic) and I am gonna go make dinner for myself and hang out with Lil' Pup until Mr. Pit gets home from studying.

Have a great night!

Williams Sonoma Easter Sale!

Just got this email in my inbox...I ADORE Easter as well as Williams Sonoma...how cute is this stuff? I totally want the little chicken foot egg holder...I don't know what I would use it for but I want it anyway!!

Furry Friday!

Hi and welcome to Furry Friday. Though it's a bit dreary and rainy today don't think for one second that this isn't a GREAT weekend to go adopt a dog!

Meet Ziggy !

Ziggy is a Jack Russell/Norwich Terrier Mix and is one energetic little guy!
Below is the description from Main Line Animal Rescue...and you have the chance to adopt two dogs at once, keep reading!!

Wanna play??? Beneath that beguiling and appealing exterior is the soul of a true terrier. A well-fenced, escape-proof yard or brisk daily walks are a must with this 'dog and people' friendly little guy. Probably indulged by his previous owners, Ziggy(also known as Zig, the Zigster or Zigman) is a bit of an aerialist and needs some work on his manners. Ziggy will make a wonderful addition to a family(with no small children) willing to fulfill his needs. And like the cartoon for which he is named, Ziggy is bound to make you smile. NOTE TO POTENTIAL ADOPTERS: Ziggy and his kennel-mate Bingo are two peas-in-a-pod. Of similar age, size and disposition, it is great fun to watch them interact with each other. These two dogs genuinely like each other! While not a requirement, it would be wonderful if Ziggy and Bingo could be adopted together. Hey, double your pleasure, double your fun, adopt Bingo and Ziggy.

So, check out Ziggy and lots of other dogs and cats that are available from Main Line Animal Rescue , or any rescue close to you! All these animals need loving homes, and you need companionship right? Go for it!!

Better

So, after a long talk with Mr. Pit last night over beers, and after some good talks with colleagues about my new site, I am feeling much much better about things. I made out like a bandit compared to some other people in my office (2 got moved to Pittsburgh and 1 to Cincinnati) so really, me moving across town is the best deal out there.

I haven't figured out if I will take the train or drive to this new site (I HATE driving the expressway in and out of the city no matter what time it is) but the train is a pain as well because of the timing. So, I will figure it out this weekend and make a go of it on Monday.

In more fun news, Mr. Pit and I have a fun day planned for tomorrow and I can't wait. We are going to breakfast at the Reading Terminal Market and then going to pick up jewelry at the jeweler that's been there for ages. I got rings that my Grandmother gave me resized and cleaned, and I can't wait to see them all sparkly and ready to wear. Then we are going to play some golf in the afternoon if it's nice enough and then we're going out for dinner with some friends to watch 'Nova in the final four. I am generally not a basketball fan, and certainly NO fan of Villanova students in general(being a local I tend to think they just come in and screw up the town for 9 months out of the year) but I admit that this is pretty exciting for the City and town, so I'm willing to play along.

Then Sunday we have a fun dinner planned with my family and some family friends, so I'm thinking this will be a great pre-Easter weekend.

I am also hoping to stop by the good TJ Maxx this weekend as well and score more Lilly and maybe some VV if I can find any. I am also in the hunt for some cute sneakers and we'll see where that takes me.

Stay tuned for Furry Friday!

Relocated.

I have been relocated as of Monday. I am out of my office (with a window and a plant) and into a jobsite trailer.

Awesome.

It is way better than being laid off, but I still LOVE my position here and I will be doing something COMPLETELY different for the next few months.

All I can hope is that I can get moved back into the office eventually.

Foggy Day

I feel a little bit confused lately and here's why.
1. It is SUPER foggy in Philly today, what do we think we are, San Francisco? Bring me spring darn it!
2. I think my Facebook page is uploading strangely and out of order...it is telling me things are posted half an hour ago, etc but the actual posts don't seem to make sense...is this left over from yesterdays April Fools shenanigans or do I actually just have NO idea what is going on in my friends lives?
3. We are waiting on two financial things to happen for us (we are refinancing the house and waiting on our taxes) and I can't figure out what the heck is taking so long? We sent our taxes in on FEBRUARY 1st...that's right folks, a whole 6 weeks early, where are you little tax return?! And the house refi...we got approved a week ago but yet haven't received the papers to sign, and until we sign the papers we can't start the 45 day closing clock...come on!!!

Otherwise things are pretty darn normal over at the Pit House. We are weaning Lil' Pup out of his cage at night (he LOVES sleeping in there) and we want him to have a full run of the house at night so he can actually protect the house...and he has been SO good lately. This morning I found him sleeping on the couch (the one he is allowed on) and I was greeted by a thump-thump of his tail and then a big stretch. I am very proud of him for being such a good boy and mostly for not trying to barge into our room and onto the bed like he has in the past, good dog!!

Mr. Pits big presentation for his class is tonight so wish him luck! This presentation prep is what has had him out of the house every night for two weeks, so I for one am SO excited it's almost over. We are going out tonight after class to celebrate them being done, so I am looking forward to that.

Anyways, today I have a doctors appointment in the afternoon so I will be out of the office after lunch and hopefully will be able to run a few errands on the way home so I can cross them off my list (our dry cleaning has been ready for over a week, oops!)

Hope everyone has a nice non-foggy day!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Late Night

Morning all, Happy April Fools Day!

First, I hope that I don't get any pranks pulled on me today. I tend not to do well when teased (which is ironic considering I went to private school for 13 years and dished out my fair share) and I am so anxious about work that I don't think a work related prank would be funny at all...but I digress.

Second, I thought for a couple of minutes yesterday that I could get laid off. My boss (the big boss of my entire department) came into my office yesterday at 4pm and asked if I could talk to him in his office when I had time. My heart raced, my stomach was in my throat. "SURE!" I said as I pondered what I would do the next day with no job. Turns out he just wanted to chat about what I was working on and what I wanted to do next (my company does construction so you can always jump on a jobsite for a bit if you want, or are told to do so). I told him he scared me by asking me in his office so late in the day on the last day of the month...and he apologized profusely for his bad timing...yikes!

Third, I stayed up until midnight last night to watch all 4 episodes of One Tree Hill on Disk 3 of Season 5. This was AFTER getting home from dinner out with E at 9pm. I am not so smart, but I couldn't turn it off!

After all the anxiety of work stuff I wasn't tired, but goodness knows I'm paying for it today!
Anyways...that was my lame and sort of crazy night. Oh yeah, and Mr. Pit didn't get home until 11:30pm anyways, so he thought it was hilarious that I was still up and watching the last episode on the disk! (Nathan is kicked out of the house, Carrie is crazy, Peyton is jealous, Lucas is engaged and Brooke just fired Victoria...how could I NOT watch?!)

Hopefully today I won't get anymore scares!
