Dream House

So, you find your dream house.

Your center hall stone colonial.

The one with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths.

ON a cul-de-sac.

For less than what you paid for the house you live in now. WAY less.

Only it's not where you want it to be. Same county, wrong township and school district.

I ask you...

Is it still your dream house?

She likes cake!

Hi friends.

We gave Little Pit her Birthday party and cake 3 days early, and let me tell you, the kid LOVES cake.

Once she figured out she was allowed to eat it, she went at it as if it was going to be her last meal ever...hilarious.

She also seemed to love the Easter Bunny. After all the tears at Santa, I never thought I'd see the day!

Enjoy the pictures.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sneak Peek...

Here's a sneak peek at what Little Pit's birthday fete is going to look like.

Considering we're only having family and her two godmothers, I decorated as if we're having a 100 people and a live band. I am only baking for 12 though, which is more people than we're having, but I figured someone can have 2 cupcakes right?

I am making cream cheese frosting today, and baking cupcakes and 'egg' cakes tomorrow. She'll do her 'smash' cake after lunch at the club on Sunday, and then hopefully take a nap. (I so KNOW that is not going to happen, but a girl can dream right?!)

Hope everyone is having a great Easter week :)

In one week...

...this teeny tiny little human will be 1 year old.

1 year.

The fastest freaking year of my entire life.

Filled with more joy than I ever could have imagined.

Oh, and Sunday is my Mom's birthday and it's Easter and my in-laws will be in town.

We will do her 'smash' cake on Sunday, 3 days early, but what's better than cake?

Cake with an audience to watch you eat it, that's what!!

Hope everyone's having a great week :)

I fell for it...

So, I am sure you all got the same promotion from Lilly Pulitzer that I did.

Spend $150 in Lilly buying 'Minnie' clothes, and you get a free Lilly Printed Bunny.

Then later an email came saying, just kidding, spend $150 anywhere in the store and get the Lilly Printed Bunny.

Naturally, after Gymboree and a lunch at the club with Mr. Pit, we headed over to Lilly to buy what we had to, to get that bunny.

I came home with a short sleeved Jonnie Shirt, SO CUTE!

And Mr. Pit came home to an Easter present as well (he reads the blog so I can't tell you what it is, but I love it!).

And, since Little Pit has WAY too many animals, the Lilly bunny is going to my Mom since she is the whole reason I love Lilly in the first place, and she LOVES bunnies.

Oh yeah, and I worked all day Sunday, and I spent exactly as much as I made Sunday working as I did in the store. Yikes!

Hope everyone is enjoying this cloudy yucky day (blah!).

Phases...

I go through phases where I feel the need to clean out every part of the house. I usually start off with my closet, go through my clothes and shoes, then I tackle the coat closets, and this week I even managed to get into the cupboards in the kitchen. I threw out two water bottles with no caps, as well as 2 broken umbrellas, a few broken hangers, and well, you get the idea. I have the desire to spring clean like NONE other.

There is a consignment sale this weekend and tomorrow is the day to consign the clothes. I have 87 items going to the sale. 87. About 10 are Little Pits clothes that still have tags on them, and about 6 are duplicate toys or books that we have gotten for her and I don't have anyone to regift them too. The other 70ish things are all from my closet.

Now, before you think I am a total clothes horse (which I can't even begin to deny), it is a LOT of my old work clothes. Since I no longer work in an office, I didn't find the need to hold on to 6 business suits and about 10 pairs of dress pants and coordinating dress shirts. I kept some, but the majority of them I am consigning because they are in great condition and I don't think that I'll be working in an office anytime soon.

Now that I have rid my closet of excess, I of course want to infill it with lots of pretty nice new things.

On a side note, I am a real sucker for white sales. Bedding, sheets, towels...you had me at hello. I can't get enough. I LOVE changing our bed around. Switch up the sheets, put new pillowcases on...that's my idea of an awesome day. So, in lieu of buying a whole new wardrobe...I really want to buy new sheets.

These imparticular...LOVE!

Both are from Garnet Hill, and both are Lilly (obvi). I love them, but at $188 for the duvet cover alone, I don't think I'll be buying these anytime soon. Sigh.

In other news, I actually WILL be working this Sunday. There is a lacrosse tournament nearby and I offered to help a woman who owns a local business since she has a tent at the event. She sells a lot of Scout stuff, so it's really easy for me to sell for her since I already know the brand so well (and I was the one to sell it to her wholesale in the first place) Looks like it will be cloudy on Sunday but it's supposed to be in the 60's at least, so hopefully we won't freeze.

Hope everyone's been having a great week!

Oh, and here's the latest from Little Pit. She LOVES raspberries!

Progress!

Hi all,
Just wanted to show off the progress of our spring flowers :)

Since some of the seeds recommend being pre-sown indoors, I got us a little kit from Burpee that comes with 72 pods for growing, and growing we are!!

So far everything is coming up but the tomatoes...but, we'll give them time, it hasn't even been 7 days.

In other news, it was snowing here this morning. In April. It is now just a light rain and we're actually supposed to be in the 60's next week, come on SPRING!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, we have absolutely nothing planned, which is nothing short of perfect if you ask me!
