Hi all, so the weekend trip to Binghamton was a blast, and I had so much fun catching up with all of our friends.
The rehearsal dinner was fabulous and filled with lots of wonderful sentiments for the bride and groom on the night before the wedding. The food was great as well and the wine just kept on flowing, much to the delight of everyone in attendance. The night was capped off by closing down the hotel bar (we actually closed it down Saturday night as well) and lots of catching up between friends.
Mr. Pit has been friends with the groom and everyone else there since his freshman year of college in '92, and the all remain so close it's unbelievable! I don't keep in touch half as well as these guys do with each other, and I'm a girl! Granted, I suspect most emails start off with something sports related, but for the most part they are all really good at emailing, calling and going to see one another on a pretty regular basis, and I for one love it. I also am SO lucky that all his friends married such wonderful women. We have so much fun together at these events and it makes the whole weekend perfect when you feel like you are surrounded by people that make you happy.
While Mr. Pit golfed on Saturday morning (how he got up at 7am after drinking as much as he did amazed me) I went to the spa for a massage and manicure and had a lovely morning with E (one of the fabulous wives of friends) and then had a lunch of a spiedie and a pepsi, yum! Spiedies are a Binghamton thing I am told and consist of chicken that has been cubed, marinated and grilled, served on a super soft roll. No condiments, no cheese, just pure marinated goodness. We definitely stopped at Wegmans on the way back and purchased the marinade for use at home, yum!!
Then, it was time for the wedding and as we were coming out to be seated the rain, wind and thunder started...but...as soon as the bride came out the door, the sun burst through the clouds and it didn't drop a molecule from then on...totally amazing. (It had been yucky most of the weekend, and was supposed to be really stormy all night, so this was magical!) The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a blast. The band was hilarious (we are certain the lead singer used Soul Glo for his hair!) but they had everyone dancing the ENTIRE night! We again shut the hotel bar down and woke up just a little worse for the wear on Sunday to drive back down to Philly for Mothers Day brunch with my fam.
Then we hung out at the club for a bit while Mr. Pit demo'd some new Ping drivers and irons while I worked on my chipping). Then it was naps, sushi for dinner, Amazing Race Finale (SO GOOD!) and early to bed. It was quite a weekend and I am definitely feeling it!!
I am also on day one, morning one of the new Isagenix 9 day cleanse and so far it is going well. I am pretty darn hungry and it will be hard to hang out with people while they eat at lunch today, but I will get through it because I know it is worth it to jump start our new healthy life this summer.
Ok, I've babbled on for too long, hope you all had wonderful weekends!
xoxo Mrs. Pit
