Scout Trunk Show- EXTENDED

Hi everyone!
So, the trunk show Saturday went well but I didn't get NEARLY as many people to come as I would have liked. Without M's help, I don't think I would have had ANYONE at all!

So, I am extending the show to tonight, from 6:30-9:30. The whole line is still at my house and ready to be picked at and prodded. Once you pick one of the bags or bins up it's love at first hold!

Again, if you want my address or you want an order form to send back to me, please email me at preppypitbull@gmail.com. If you order through me, before Wednesday the 11th, I can give you 10% off shipping and free gifts for any purchase over $100, pretty good deal huh? Plus, just by showing up you get a FREE Spirit Liftah (shown above) nice right?

I hope you all had good weekends, and hopefully I'll see you tonight!!

Furry Friday! Meet Orchid!

Welcome to Furry Friday!

Look at this pretty girl, and such a fitting name! Orchid is a Jindo and needs a home!!

Below is her write up from Main Line Animal Rescue, she sounds like a gem of a dog!!

Orchid is a Jindo - a breed that originated from South Korea. Orchid refuses to let her neglectful beginnings impact her life. She is a playful and loving gal. She really enjoys taking long walks with her volunteer buddies. She also enjoys her playtime running in our MLAR fields. Orchid would like to be the only flower in your domestic bouquet, however, as you watch her personlity bloom, you'll be perfectly content!

As always, check out Main Line Animal Rescue for more animals that need homes!

This is a perfect weekend to go adopt a dog, you can take a nice long walk at Valley Forge Park, it's going to be gorgeous out!!

It's also a PERFECT weekend to go shopping for Scout Bags! Come to my Scout trunk show and check out all the holiday patterns and new shapes, you'll love them :) Email me at preppypitbull@gmail.com for more information!

Have a great weekend!

Monday Funday

Hi all,
Mr. Pit and I had a great weekend despite the downpour on Saturday.
Some highlights included...
*Getting my halloween costume at Walmart for $16. TOTAL.
*Buying my first maternity clothes. Actually not as dowdy or gross as I thought they'd be. Plus, I got them at quite a discount, so I'm pleased with the purchases. I wish I could afford Pea in the Pod, but Motherhood will do for my first set of stuff.
*We watched Bottle Shock on Saturday night, amazing movie that I had never even heard of!! You have to see it, amazing!
*We had another amazing dinner at Spice in Newtown Square. Totally yummy Indian and Thai food, and we saw some great friends too, a great end to the weekend :)

Tonight I had my 14 week doctors appointment and everything went well. The babies heartbeat clocked in at 150 bpm, which is slower than the first two times, but still healthy and loud. It was the first time Mr. Pit heard it on the doppler and the smile on his face was priceless. I don't go in for another 4 weeks and then I have another ultrasound in 6 weeks, and then we'll be half way through, crazy huh?!

I am having a REALLY hard time not buying anything for the nursery yet, but I told myself if I can wait until after Christmas, I can get even more for my money. So, yeah, that's what I'm trying to do...I'll let you know how it goes!

Oh and I love One Tree Hill...even 41 minutes into it, it's SO good this week!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Oh, and the Scout Home Show is officially ON! It's November 7th, from 12-5 so if you want directions to my house, let me know, I'd love to have you!!

Furry Friday!

Hi all and welcome to yet another edition of Furry Friday!

Meet Reily!

Reily is a beagle/boxer mix, and just look at that face, too cute! Here is her write up from our friends at Main Line Animal Rescue

Reily is an adorable mix of boxer and beagle (and who knows what else!). She has a very short coat so low shedding and beautiful black and white markings. Reily is a very sensitive dog, and she is overwhelmed in the shelter environment, but once she is outside in the play yards she is a totally different dog - she wags her tail non-stop, gives kisses, runs and plays and really enjoys herself. She just needs a bit of time to adjust to new situations and she truly is sensitive so she needs an owner who will be patient with her and allow her time to adjust to new experiences and environments. She will be so grateful and you'll get the cutest, sweetest affectionate girl in return. She is a volunteer favorite - that cute face and soulful eyes get us every time! She is totally housetrained and good on a leash. If you think Reily may be the right fit for you, please fill out an application and come meet her.

Go out and adopt Reily this weekend! The rain won't last long and Sunday is a great day for a walk at Valley Forge :)

Mr. Pit and I are headed to the Shipley Shops tonight for an alumni event and then we have a pretty low key weekend which I'm really looking forward to. Mr. Pit is going to homecoming at Villanova on Saturday (as he's a current Wildcat in their MBA program) but I am going to needlepoint instead. I have a project I have to get done before the Clara Wells trunk show at Stitch Haus in November! Other than that I am going to head up to the mall to buy my first pair of maternity pants...yes, not so flattering, but when the buttons won't close, something's gotta give. Plus, I've been going to work in yoga pants for the past 2 weeks, and while I don't think anyone minds, I want to dress a little more professionally if I can.

Oh, and the biggest announcement of all, I am hosting another Scout Home Show on November 7th from 12-5. I am getting ALL of their new products and patterns and there will be tons of incentives and free stuff just for stopping by! Below are two pictures of what I'm offering, email me at preppypitbull@gmail.com for details!

The first picture is the new pattern- choco-pink and the second is the new 'spirit liftah' wine tote!

Here's the news!

A drumroll please...

I am 3 months pregnant with our first baby!

Mr. Pit and I saw the baby this morning on an ultrasound and it was no less than incredible. I cried, and I think I even saw a tear from Mr. Pit himself. It was amazing to see this little tiny person! We saw arms and legs and fingers and toes and the baby was moving all around, jumping, bouncing, sucking it's thumb...totally unbelievable. Everything measured healthy and we couldn't have had a nicer ultrasound technician. She got us some great pictures, which I can't download here because they are now PDF's, but I will try to get them converted to jpegs so I can show them to you.

The ultrasound technician measured the babys head, and the nuchal fold (a skin flap at the back of the babies neck) as well as the crown-t0-rump and when my doctor gets that info this afternoon it will confirm our due date. Right now the doctor thinks it is between the 30th of April and the 1st of May, so these measurements will tell us which side of Aries or Taurus the baby will be :)

We are really really excited and happy and are looking forward to the next 6 months to get the house ready as well as ME ready for this whole delivery thing!

My other news is regarding my ALL TIME favorite brand of SCOUT by Bungalow, but I don't really have anything to confirm yet, but hopefully there is another trunk show or two in the works as well as some online fun as well. I was down in DC earlier this week to hash it all out so that was that fun adventure!

Hope all is well with you all, the weather is yucky here in Philly and will be for the next 4 days (gotta love NorEasters!) but it's all sunny and happy in my head :) :)

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Wednesday Wants

Hi all, so I figured today since there wasn't much on the agenda, I'd show you a few things I've been lusting after lately.

First and foremost, you KNOW my love of Bungalow and all things Scout. Their bags come in handy in every situation known to man, and I am the proud owner of quite a few products.

THESE however, are new and I need them. You see, Christmas presents get tricky, especially with friends, and how much to you spend, and blah blah blah. Well, this cute wine tote saves the day. We stick in a bottle of our favorite red "Montepulciano de Abruzzi" and off we go to the party! So simple, so chic!

Even the name is fabulous! A spirit liftah it is :)

Secondly, this duvet set from Pottery Barn. It's called the Leslie and it's brand new. Mr. Pit knows about my slight obsession with bedding- we have LOTS of sheets and quilt options, but I love them and I think it can make or break the room...how adorable is this?! Nice and bright and perfect for those dreary winter days to come.
Now all we have to do is to get Lil' Pup from jumping up on our bed to wake us up in the morning and then we can have a dog hair-free bed, horray! (though, I kind of like the exuberant Pitty greeting...he is SO excited to see us everyday, how many people do you know that react like that just from you waking up?!)

I hope everyone has great Wednesdays, the weather is perfect in Philly, warm and sunny and not too humid, I'll take it!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Furry Friday!

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of post yesterday. I had a lot going on at work and Mr. Pit left this morning for Vegas so we had date night last night and then before I knew it I was asleep. But, I'm up, it's ALMOST the weekend and I can't wait.

The Scout Home Show is tomorrow and I am very excited about it. I hope I get a good turnout (though a ton of people haven't responded) so I am hopeful!

And without further ado, I present...FURRY FRIDAY!

Meet Gavin! Yes, he has the same name as my DARLING Mr. Pit, and look at this face, almost as cute as his namesake!!

Gavin is a 4 year old PURE BRED Cocker Spaniel who needs a forever home! He is a new pup at Main Line Animal Rescue and came from a home, so he is fully housetrained and walks well on a leash. They don't have any write up on him on the website, but my sources say he's a great pup to have!!

Check out Main Line Animal Rescue today to check out all of their animals (they have a ton right now, so sad!) or check out Petfinder for pets in your area!

I also have to give BIG UPS to my girl C who just two days ago recieved her PhD from Penn! She is a brilliant one, that C, and we all knew she could do it. Apparently the dissertation defense went off without a hitch and I am so proud!! I love that I have such brilliant hardworking friends, I feel smarter just being near them :)

Have a great weekend, and if you're in the area, come to the Scout Home Show at my house! If you need directions email me at preppypitbull@gmail.com and I'll get it to you!!

Sleepy

Hi there Pit Fans,
It was a crazy weekend at the Pit House and I am one exhausted girl today.

Friday was nice and low key, exactly what we wanted, but come Saturday morning we were on a mission and didn't stop until 11pm last night.

Saturday morning we were up and hit Whole Foods, the golf club, KMart, and Acme, and in between then we managed to put the new bed together, clean the entire house, do 2 loads of laundry, weed the garden and make it to dinner at a friends by 5:30.

Then, Sunday we were up at 7 to go play in our respective golf matches (Dad and I came in 5th with a net 69 yesterday, woo hoo!) and then we worked like man men getting the house ready for our Iron Chef Guacamole Party. We had 4 couples come over, each bring their own guacamole, and then judged the respective recipes while draining 1 1/2 cases of Corona...ha! It was a great weekend I am just beat, and it probably didn't help that I probably had 6 beers on a Sunday night either. It was great fun though and the guacamoles were fantastic! I don't think I have to eat again for a week!

Mr. Pit has two clases this week (and two test tonight, poor guy!) and then he's off to Vegas on Friday morning for his best friends bachelor party. I get to host my first Scout Bag Home Party and I can't wait!! All the products came in last week and they are absolutely great. I showed a bunch of people last night and they were all really excited about Saturday, so I hope a lot of people come and that I will do well enough for Bungalow to allow me to do another one in the late summer :) :)

Anyways, I have a busy week at work, my desk is FULL of things for me to process, so I gotta hop to it...hope your weekends were swell!

A Fab Weekend again...

Hi friends, Mr. Pit and I are coming off another fabulous weekend and are 1/10th of the way through the week, horray!

I accomplished a lot around the house which pleased me greatly, however, the biggest accomplishment of the weekend was sowing our seeds in our garden!

Our garden is 40' long and 4' wide, so there is a lot of room for a lot of plants, and I think we did a lot better planning the space from last year. Last year we learned the hard way just how much room 18 jalapeno plants take up when they are fully grown, those suckers didn't stop growing until Halloween!

So this year we planted...
Zinnias
Snapdragons
Green Beans
Romaine Lettuce
Green Leaf Lettuce
1 Eggplant (my Mom didn't have room for it in her garden so she gave it to us, Thanks Mom!)
Carrots
and Squash...

Hopefully it will grow abundantly and we will have lots of yummy veggies to munch on all summer!

No big plans for this week or the weekend, Mr. Pit starts up his classes tomorrow night, so I am back to being a 3x a week MBA widow...but just one more year and we're done! Mr. Pit is off to a bachelor party this weekend as well, so I am planning on a walk with my friend E and her dog at Ridley Creek State Park, and then some golf with my brother. Mr. Pit comes back on Sunday and we'll do a barbecue at the club followed by another 18 holes, yahoo!

Oh, and the invitations are coming along for the Bungalow/Scout Bag trunk show, so keep watch of your inbox!!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Philadelphia has been inundated with rain lately and I am SO tired of it, grrr.

Yesterday was great, it was 74 and sunny and after work I took a very nice walk with Mr. Pit and Lil' Pup and then went to a fun dinner with M & C at Brothers Spano in Rosemont, yum.

But now, this morning again it is raining and is supposed to rain on and off all weekend, what a bother.

Anyways, I am still riding my high from yesterday after being asked to host the Scout trunk show, and I even have some blogger interest which is great!

If you want to come to the trunk show, please email me at preppypitbull@gmail.com and then I can email you the invitation! (Which I still of course have to put together, but it will be great)
Save the date of June 13th, and it will probably be the majority of that afternoon, but details will follow I promise :)

I also have to give big ups today to my parents, who today, celebrate their 38th wedding anniversary. This is an accomplishment not many people achieve, and I am very very happy that my parents are as happy as they are after all this time. After raising 3 children and truly making our house a home, I wish them another 38 wonderful years.

Hope it's sunny in your neck of the woods!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

SCOUT BAGS ARE HERE!!!

I just got AMAZINGLY fun news that I get to host a SCOUT BAG Party!!

Scout bags and Bungalow products reign supreme in our house and I am a huge huge fan and I am so excited that I get to do this for them :) I am thinking the 2nd weekend in June, and I am going to work with Bungalow to get all the best packages put together to suit people and their summer needs, horray!!

If you are interested in coming to the event (I live outside Philly) let me know and I will get you on the invite list :)
