Hi guys, sorry for the delay in posting, there is a lot of drama going on at work lately and I am trying my best to stay under the radar and out of trouble, which for one means staying off the blogs and facebook :(
But, I did have a great weekend with the big USC win over Notre Dame. Mr Pit made some fabulous chili and we had friends over and were as social as possible given the yucky freezing rainy weather.
Then last night, Mr Pit had a school meeting so I snuggled up with Lil' Pup and watched my two favorite hours of TV every week, One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.
OTH was awesome last night. The Renee drama while annoying is a good plot twist, but I have to say I'm a little worried about Millicent in this big bad world of modeling. Miss Alex "I'm a slutty model" was also getting on my nerves and I was thrilled when Brooke fired her. I am a HUGE Brooke fan, and I liked how she stood up for herself this season. I am Brooke, hear me roar! Plus, I don't want her to break up with Julian, he is such good eye candy after all!
Now, onto Gossip Girl...I hate to say this, but last night I was bored! Even with the whole Chuck Bass I've kissed guys before thing, I wasn't impressed. Blair is turning into a caraciture of herself and frankly it's old. I liked how she sat with Vanessa at the end, but please, her story is done. I am not happy that she and Chuck are fighting, but Blair has to learn how to play nice, especially with those you love. The Serena/Carter thing is old too...I totally figured he wouldn't want the bail out and leave anyway, he's trouble and she should have known. SNORE.
Hopefully my 2 favorite shows can finish strong at the end of the fall, One Tree Hill looks like it's in the bag, Gossip Girl however, has work to do.
Until the next time I can sneak a blog in, have a great week!
xoxo

Late Night
Morning all, Happy April Fools Day!
First, I hope that I don't get any pranks pulled on me today. I tend not to do well when teased (which is ironic considering I went to private school for 13 years and dished out my fair share) and I am so anxious about work that I don't think a work related prank would be funny at all...but I digress.
Second, I thought for a couple of minutes yesterday that I could get laid off. My boss (the big boss of my entire department) came into my office yesterday at 4pm and asked if I could talk to him in his office when I had time. My heart raced, my stomach was in my throat. "SURE!" I said as I pondered what I would do the next day with no job. Turns out he just wanted to chat about what I was working on and what I wanted to do next (my company does construction so you can always jump on a jobsite for a bit if you want, or are told to do so). I told him he scared me by asking me in his office so late in the day on the last day of the month...and he apologized profusely for his bad timing...yikes!
Third, I stayed up until midnight last night to watch all 4 episodes of One Tree Hill on Disk 3 of Season 5. This was AFTER getting home from dinner out with E at 9pm. I am not so smart, but I couldn't turn it off!
After all the anxiety of work stuff I wasn't tired, but goodness knows I'm paying for it today!
Anyways...that was my lame and sort of crazy night. Oh yeah, and Mr. Pit didn't get home until 11:30pm anyways, so he thought it was hilarious that I was still up and watching the last episode on the disk! (Nathan is kicked out of the house, Carrie is crazy, Peyton is jealous, Lucas is engaged and Brooke just fired Victoria...how could I NOT watch?!)
Hopefully today I won't get anymore scares!

Everyone hates me because my life is perfect...
ha, or something like that. That was definitely the line of the night last night, spoken by none other that the "perfect" Miss Blair Waldorf.
Yesterday could have been one of the more horrific days of my career, but I chose to look on the bright side of things (is there a bright side to a 7 hour meeting?) and rewarded myself with a sushi dinner and two hours of unadulterated CW viewing.
My day started out easily enough, with me getting into work at 7:45, per usual. I worked on putting my estimate together, but was waiting for a HUGE number from a subcontractor, so I thought that I had done as much as I could. I had a 'check-in' meeting with my boss, who promptly bled red ink all over my work.
Awesome. I went back, did more work, worked through lunch, and went back into his office at 1, and didn't leave there until 6:30. So, by this time I hadn't been outside in almost 11 hours and I was dying to leave.
Finally the email was sent, and a rescue text was sent to Mr. Pit. "Wanna meet me in Bryn Mawr and we can go to Sushi Land?" "YES" was his reply and it was exactly what I needed.
I spent the train ride on the internet on my cell phone, and before I knew it I was biting into totally delicious sushi by Jae, my all time favorite sushi chef. YUM.
Then it was home and directly to the TV to start the DVR with Gossip Girl and then One Tree Hill. Back to back. Not even a bathroom break. With Lil' Pup on my lap. PERFECT!
So, all in all, my crazy work day ended well with yummy sushi, my two favorite shows and then my cozy bed all by 10:30. Brilliant.
What I did miss though, was the book signing event at the Lilly Store in King of Prussia, and I feel REALLY bad because I told Prep-E Girl Erin that I would go as one of her guests and I totally bailed. I got off the train at 7:15 and the event was over at 8 and I couldn't bring myself to go up to the mall. Sorry Erin! I really wanted to go, I hope it was fun!
Anyways, we're supposed to get some sun here today (atleast that's what Doug Kammerer said last night on the news) so I am looking forward to that. Spring officially starts on Friday, let's get some spring weather in here, shall we?!

TGIF!
Morning Pit Fans,
It's a balmy 24 degrees here in the city today, and that R5 couldn't have come soon enough! I was a preppy Popsicle this morning by the time it decided to rumble by and pick me up, thank goodness for cute North Face hats to keep my head and ears warm!
Mr. Pit is in New York today and tomorrow so spend time with his family after his Grandmother passed away last week, so it will just be me and Lil' pup at home tonight and tomorrow. (I was up last weekend but am just too busy at work with projects due to take the whole day off)
So, tonight I think I'll make myself another grilled cheese (I used super aged sharp cheddar last night and it was delish) and then Lil' Pup and I will sit down for Season 4 of One Tree Hill as it's supposed to come from Netflix today, yay! I know that doesn't sound so exciting to anyone else, but one of my favorite parts of winter (and believe me, there are not many!) is snuggling on the couch with Lil' Pup and Mr. Pit and watching some riveting television (even if it is from 3 years ago!)
In other news, I may actually get to go to the mall tomorrow (King of Prussia, obvi) and I am excited like you wouldn't believe. Since Mr. Pit and I are on a no spending kick, I haven't even let myself go into stores, much less try anything on, MUCH LESS buy anything...but I think tomorrow I will go get myself a little pick me up (maybe some Lilly stationery?)to get myself through February. We have to go buy Mr. Pit some pants for a wedding that he is a part of in May, so I will just tag along and see what I can find. Then I think we'll go see "He's just not that into you" and call it a night.
Anyways, that's the big plan for the not so big (or long) weekend. Hope you have more exciting stuff than me going on! Oh, and tune in next week for Pre-Vail trip excitement!

50 degrees...in Philly...in February
What has the world come to with temperatures like this? Not that I am complaining at all...I in fact, love every waking second of it! How nice it was to stand and wait for the train today without having to stand hunched over lest the cold wind get down my jacket! No, this morning was fairly lovely for being 7am, and my train was on time to boot, yahoo!
In other good news today, though the Dow is down approximately 300 points (which does NOT make me happy) Mr. Pit and I were able to lock in a new low rate for our mortgage, and we close in 60 days. The savings is significant and this should help with the bills tremendously since the shiny new A6 is in the driveway begging to be paid for.
I also had an awesome Thai lunch with my friend E, and just yesterday I got a huge project off my desk that had been on it since last November!! I also got the final payment for another project of mine, so that can get off the desk in the coming weeks as well, yippee!
Anyways, as we all know, Valentine's Day is coming up, and I actually have 2 gifts for Mr. Pit this year. Neither scream romance (or sex, sorry!) but I think he'll like them just the same. I specifically asked for nothing for the day since all I want it to sit on the couch and watch movies with him and Lil' Pup all day Sunday. If it's nice we are going to bring Lil' Pup to Valley Forge for a really long walk, but again, it's all dependent on the weather. We also both have Monday off from work, so there is potential for movie time that day as well, so we'll just have to play it by ear.
Anyways, I gotta get back to the grind since I have two bids due in the next week and I am running them both, yikes!
Oh, and p.s, I am NOT happy that Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill were both reruns last night, ugh! But, on a super fun gossip note...rumor has it that Sophia Bush (Brooke Davis on OTH) and James Lafferty (Nathan Scott on OTH) are dating in real life...am I the only geek that thinks that is really fun?! A little creepy since she was married to Chad Michael Murray for a hot second, but I am a huge Sophia Bush fan anyways, so I can't possibly hate on these two. I love it!
