Lilly Sale WIN!

Hi all,
So, as you know, I am lucky enough to live about 2 miles from King of Prussia, PA, which is the home of the headquarters of the one and only Lilly Pulitzer.

This means that I am lucky enough to have 2 retail stores within easy easy driving distance, and have been to every warehouse sale since it started (I used to take a vacation day from work back in the day...I'm a dedicated fan!)

Anyways...so the last warehouse sale was great, but I ended up putting back the "Just a Little Knotty" wedges for $99 because I couldn't justify a 4" heel with a toddler at that price.

Fast forward to today though, and the Lilly online winter sale didn't disappoint! I got the wedges for $54 AND free shipping! This price was much more reasonable for something that I might be lucky to wear a few times a month in the summer.

I am not one to wear heels around the house or to the store, I have to be at an actual event to warrant it, hence my love of flip flops, sneakers and low heeled boots...I also chase a toddler all day which would kill me in heels... but, I digress. I have loved these wedges since I first saw them, and I am thrilled to add them to my (very well pared down) collection.

I was thrilled to see so many great prices on things, and I even scooped up a bathing suit for Little Pit. At $19 it's still not exactly cheap, but it will be adorable for all our days at the Y pool this summer. (Can you tell I am wishing summer here ASAP, it's 29 degrees here today!!)

I hope you all had luck at the sale as well. I know the West Coasters got kinda screwed with the 8am start time, and I too was victim of the inoperable website for a few minutes there, but overall, for what I wanted it was great.

Sending everyone lots of warm thoughts today!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Warehouse Sale!

Hi all!
So today was the first day of the winter Lilly Warehouse sale, and I have to say I am SO impressed with the new space and this years collection for the sale. They had lots of items that have just recently been in stores, and I was impressed at the speed of the line (I only waited a half hour) and how nicely spaced everything was. I didn't feel crowded or pushed AND I had Little Pit with me in her stroller and that worked out really nicely too!

I bought most of the stuff for Masha of Preppy Girl Meets world, and she made out like a bandit if I do say so myself! I got her 3 polos (white, green and pink) a Lana slub top in Pink, and an Adalie in Pink Tomato Standing Ovation...cute right?

I got myself a Jodie Sweater that I have been lusting after, and then I got my Mom three things for Christmas, yahoo! Little Pit got a dress (I just couldn't say no to a pink seersucker shift!) and I was out of there for less than $400 total!

Here is the sweater I got myself :
And the dress I got for MRM!

I was thisclose to buying myself the "Knotty Wedge" in Navy and the Gold wedge as well, but I think my days of wedges are kind of gone for the moment seeing as I have to keep up with Little Pit...but, if you want a great selection of shoes, they have them there!!

Anyways, I had a great time at the sale and can't wait to send MRM her items :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

2 months to go...

Today is October 25th, which means we're 2 months from Christmas, yahoo!

My Christmas list is a bit long, and a bit fancy, but that's what lists are for right? So you can fantasize about what you want...I have what I need, believe me!

Here are a few fun things I wouldn't mind under the tree...

This Eryn dress in Chorus Girl. I have loved this dress since I saw the preview for it in the summer. Plus, at $198 it's a downright bargain for a Lilly. Do I need it? Absolutely not, but it's so pretty!
An Erin Condren Life Planner. I love calendars and regularly use the one on the fridge as well as synching up my online Google calendar with Mr. Pits. This however is SO cute and I feel like I could stuff everything into it, including invitations and check up cards that are currently taking over the fridge.
Ok, so this isn't for me, but how cute would this be for Little Pit? It's actually on sale in the latest "Great Big Toy Book" from ToysRUs...and I'm hoping Mr. Pit will let me splurge on it for her. She would have a blast in there.

I'm not eligible for an upgrade from Verizon until August of next year, but that doesn't keep me from wanting an iPhone like none other. I was impatient and bought a Droid and I loathe it...so I'm counting down the days to my 20 month anniversary and I can upgrade!

That's it for now. I could list a whole lot more clothes and shoes and silly stuff, but you've all seen my Boden post, so you know I have that covered. Honestly, at this point I want Little Pit to start talking (the pediatrician was a wee-bit concerned this morning that at 18 months she only has about 4 words) and to continue to be healthy. The child has a crazy tendency to fall down, I mean FALL down every day, so I wish her to be more stable and balanced and we can all rest a bit easier. I want Mr. Pit to continue to be happy in his position at work (he's been there 18 months and is SOO happy which is so awesome) and I wish that our house and cars stay well so we don't have to drop our savings on repairs. (2011 was a notoriously bad year for both our cars). I want a snowy winter so we can play outside, but not so snowy or icy that we can't get to where we want to go.

Am I asking too much? Hope not!

Hope everyone is having a great day, Little Pit is 2 1/2 hours into her afternoon nap and shows no signs of waking soon, yahoo!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

What I ended up with...

...was a little different from what I planned, but I am still happy.

I hit up the Lilly Warehouse sale after my tennis match today (I lost 7-5, 6-2...grrr) and was determined to shop my sadness away.

I am pretty sure I did it too!

The Jillie dress ended up not being a good look on me (it made me look like I was expecting Little Pit #2, which I'm not, so no good)

Here's what I ended up with...

The Shauna Tunic (which I loved from the moment it came out)
The Paley Cardigan in a print I had never seen!
And for little pit, she got a shift (not this one, I couldn't find a picture of the pattern I got) and this little hoody, how cute is that??!

I also randomly ended up with 2 picture frames...they aren't crazy cute or even patterned, just white wood, but they were $5 each and I figured they would come in handy somewhere in the house at some point. Plus, I also figured I could decoupage them with Lilly wrapping paper if I really got bored, but the white wood is fine with me.

I hope everyone who went to the sale had a good time and got what they wanted :)

Oh yeah, and I hope you all survived the crazy heat we had today, yowza! My car said 98 degrees, but I think it was low by a few, it was insane.

Talk to you all soon!

Lilly Warehouse Sale

Though the warehouse sale this time around was small, REALLY small, I still came out a winner.

I had tried on the Wayles dress back in October in the Outer Banks, and I knew that if I ever found it on sale it would come home with me, but the bank account prohibited me from dropping $268 on it while on vacation.

I was going to go at 8, but cancelled the babysitter in lieu of waiting for Mr. Pit to get home to watch Little Pit and I could run in and out and be back by the time she was up from her afternoon nap. So I ran out the door at 3, convinced that absolutely nothing good would be left by the time I got there.

So, you can imagine my surprise when not only I saw the Wayles on the large poster going IN to the sale, but I was THRILLED to find it in my size almost 8 hours after the show had started today!

I was also lucky that they didn't have more items I just had to have, because that would have meant dipping into the Christmas funds that are meant for other people.

So, without further ado, I present my prize for the day, and all for $99!

YAY! I can't wait to wear it...I am thinking I will either wear it on Thanksgiving or to my BFF's rehearsal dinner, oh wait, maybe I'll just wear it to both!

Hope everyone else found what they were looking for at the sale if they went, otherwise I know a LOT of store are doing similar sales online and in stores while the warehouse sale is going on.

Have a great weekend!

XOXO Mrs. Pit

So many dresses...

SO little time!

Mr. Pit and I get pretty social this time of year with all sorts of holiday parties and charity soiree's...and what do I need for all these events....dresses of course!

Lilly has really been hitting it out of the ballpark lately with their fall collection (I also just went into Anthro this afternoon and holy heck if I didn't want to spend my entire bank account in there!)

So, without further ado, these 3 are on my list. Not holding my breath that they will be on sale at the warehouse sale this year, but we can always hope, right??!

This is the Wayles. I love it. It even comes with that cute belt...paired with brown boots, so cute!!

This is the Mae. I am not one for strapless dresses at this point in my life, but this one may be too cute to pass up. I love it.

And this is the Kaya. I love a dress where I don't have to wear jewelry. AMAZING.

So, that my friends, is my Wednesday Wish List. (of course as I sit here while Little Pit naps, I am wearing jeans, uggs and a long sleeve tshirt. oh well)

Hope everyone has a great day!

We're off to the Shipley Shops preview party tonight, can't wait!

Thank you Lilly Pulitzer and Garnet Hill!

This friends, is my new bedding from Garnet Hill and Lilly Pulitzer, courtesy of Facebook.

I didn't tell anyone when it happened, but since I got the package in the mail yesterday I couldn't resist.

You know those contests that companies sometimes run on Facebook, where you have to comment and tell them your favorite thing and then you could win it? Well, Lilly did this two weeks ago in honor of their collaboration with Garnet Hill, and wouldn't you know they picked MY comment as a winner, and I got this coverlet and the two shams in the mail yesterday!!

I couldn't believe I won, I mean, I don't win ANYTHING ever, and lo and behold I got an email from a person at Lilly last week telling me that I had one and that I should expect a package from Garnet Hill shortly. Said package was on our front porch yesterday and the new stuff went RIGHT on the bed (after washing the sheets of course, I couldn't have my fancy new coverlet on top of slept in sheets!)

Mr. Pit is even a fan, and it really brightens up our room (we had a navy blue duvet on the bed for the winter, so this is perfect and spring like!!

So, to everyone out there who never bothers to enter contests because they are convinced they'll never win, listen to my story, it might just be you!!!

Thanks again to Lilly and Garnet Hill, I love the new coverlet and shams, I am so thrilled!!

Hope everyone has a great day, I think we might see sun today, yay!!!

Am I the only one?

Who was disappointed in the Lilly Sale? It was supposed to be Jubilee...but I only found a few dresses that were actual pink label Jubilee stuff..and where were the bags? And the shoes? I'm sorry, 2 tables of shoes does NOT cut it for a hyped up sale. And the sweaters?! They used to have BOXES AND BOXES of cable knit sweaters and tops, this year they had ONE table and it was that wierd chunky knit SHORT SLEEVED cardigan thing...WTF? Sweaters are for when it's cold out. Short sleeved sweaters is about as logical as a screen door on a submarine. Sorry, but it's a pet peeve of mine. STUPID. I would have bought that sweater if the sleeves were long.

I ended up sticking to my rules, I got one dress for myself (which I can't find a picture of anywhere) but I love it and it will definitely work for me this winter. It has a belt so there is room for the ever expanding belly of mine to fit in it :) I got a sweater for my brother and a gift for a friend, but other than that I couldn't and wouldn't have bought anything else even if I did have an entire paycheck to blow. Hopsy and the other girls who went yesterday morning seem to have done VERY well and maybe that's because the morning had more options than the evening did, and that's awesome. I also don't fit in any of the sample sizes, so those racks were pointless for me to go through as sizes 4 and 6 don't cut it.

Sorry to be so complainy about it, it's just the second time in a row that the sale has disappointed me. I always want to go in and be blown away, and I never am!

Anyways, coming up is Furry Friday, so stay tuned!

Happy Thursday!

Hi all,
Though it is dreary and rainy here in Philly today, the week and weekend have lots of fun things on the agenda.

Tonight I am headed over to the Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale in King of Prussia, then Mr. Pit and I are going to try to think of something fun to do for dinner. Tomorrow night we have a charity dinner to attend at Merion Cricket Club and I think it will be a great event as it always is.

Saturday I am getting my H1N1 shot (oh how fun it is to be 'high risk' these days!) and then going to lunch with Mr. Pit before he goes off to New England for the weekend with college friends. They are all going to the Patriots game on Sunday night and doing lots of things that boys do when they all get together before that.

Sunday will be spent with the parents and family friends who are in town to visit and then next week is Thanksgiving, can you believe it?!

I am very excited for the sale tonight, though I promised myself I would only buy 1 thing for myself and everything else has to be for others...but I'll let you know how that goes in tomorrows post :)

I was sad I couldn't get to the Pre-Warehouse Sale Preppy Blogger Dinner, but the pictures look fun and it looks like everyone had a great time. I am sure they are all still at the sale this morning as I type this!!

Anyways, have good Thursdays!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

WHAT a weekend

Hi all,
Mr. Pit and I had a whirlwind weekend down in our Nations capital and I was SO glad that we decided to take yesterday as a vacation day.

Saturday I went to a bridal shower, which was followed by a dinner, a lingerie shower and then a bachelorette party, complete with a 20 person Hummer limo. I bailed before the first bar on account of being on my feet since 8am, and since it wasn't proper for me to imbibe on account of the little one. BUT, I had an awesome time with my college friends and was SO glad I made the trip down there. It was great to see everyone and I have never seen the future bride so happy in my life, what a treat :)

Sunday was filled with football and we started our Redskins tailgate at 9am, complete with breakfast, lunch AND dinner after the game. We hung out for 2 hours after the game to let the parking lot empty (which is totally brilliant by the way) and made it home in 2 and a half hours with no real issues. The game was great, our seats were really fun and again, hanging out with friends was my favorite part. We also got to see the Redskins win, which is a rarity this season!

Yesterday was spent sleeping, eating and doing all the things around the house we didn't get a chance to do since we weren't around all weekend. Mr. Pit and I had a great time just spending time together AND we got our Thanksgiving turkey for a whopping $5. Yep, $.29 a pound...so our 17 pound bird only cost us 5 freaking dollars! Wegmans people, WEGMANS. I love that place.

Now I'm back at work catching up on everything I missed from being out for training 2 days last week as well as yesterday, so I'm working it!

As for this week, um...LILLY Warehouse sale is Thursday and apparently NOTHING is over $100...HOLLA! I am so freaking excited. I love that sale, it makes me happy every year :)

Then this weekend I am finally getting my H1N1 vaccine and Mr. Pit is headed up to New England for the Patriots game on Sunday night. I will spend Sunday with the parents and I am very much looking forward to Thanksgiving the next week!

Hope everyone had great weekends!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Oh, and a BIG shout out to DOG SITTER OF THE CENTURY, our friend A. What a lifesaver this girl is. Lil' Pup was SO calm and happy to see us, which is a sign that he had a great weekend and was a happy pup which is all we can ask for...oh, AND our house was freaking spotless, which is NOT how we left it! A, you're the best. You will be rewarded heavily!!

Furry Friday!

Welcome to Furry Friday! Meet Homer!!

Homer is a 6 year old Mastiff who really needs a home. Totally house trained, walked great on a leash, and so handsome!! His story from Main Line Animal Rescue is below, take a look and take this guy home...what a great early Thanksgiving present to yourself!!
Well, I was a mess when I arrived at Main Line Animal Rescue, no hair from years of bad infection, funny looking moles and just about the gruesomest dog you ever saw. Now I am a new man and ready for a new home. Handsome is just one of the words the volunteers use to describe me, and sweet and gentle and loving. I went from being an "untouchable" to one of the hot new dogs to walk and love....and they love me, they really love me!!! Now I'll just wait here and play with my new friends until you come and discover that I am a real dreamboy. Fully housetrained, easy to walk and won't give you a bit of trouble! I am healthy, happy and move in ready!

Doesn't he sound like a doll? I tell ya, if I lived on a 100 acre farm, ALL of these pups would come home with me!!

Mr. Pit and I are off to Washington, DC this weekend. I am going down for a bridal shower and bachelorette party and Mr. Pit is going to see a bunch of college friends. Then we're all going to the Redskins/Bronco's game on Sunday and taking Monday off to recover.

And then next week is the Lilly Sale! Since I already got my Hayward tunic I am really only on the search for the Saemus dress in my size, and maybe some things for Baby Pit...however, since we don't know if Baby Pit is a boy or a girl, I might have to buy some of everything! I can't expect my child to be born without a Lilly wardrobe now can I? Ha...don't worry, I am really only looking for a cute onesie or something, no dresses or anything older than a 6 month size, their kids stuff is just SO darn cute!!

Lilly Online Sale

Hi all,
I am assuming you all found out about the Lilly Online Sale in one way or another, and I have to say I made out like 1/2 a bandit.

I wanted two things. I wanted the Saemus Dress and the Hayward Tunic. Hayward Tunic purchased...Saemus Dress...well, all I can say is that I wish I were a size 6.

I am thrilled by my tunic though, and think I will pair it with black pants for Thanksgiving, how chic!!

I love it, don't you?

Oh, Hi Fall!

From the cool weather here in the City of Brotherly Love, you'd think that Fall was officially upon us! My car said 58 degrees this morning, 58! But, I broke out my lime green Lilly fleece and was cozy and warm on my way into work :)

Tonight is the lasagna extravaganza with M, and I am very much looking forward to going home and getting it all started. I don't really make lasagna the traditional way, it turns into more of a casserole or just steaming pot of yumminess, but regardless, it's my version and I made it constantly in college for all my sorority sisters who used to love it.

Basically I take a box of bowtie pasta, cook that all up, then mix ricotta with salt, pepper and dried basil, and then I layer the pasta and cheese and sauce just like you would in a regular lasagna. When you scoop into it it all gets mixed together but that's what makes it delicious. It's all hot and every crevice is covered in cheesy saucy goodness, yum!

Then, I'll make a salad with lettuce from our garden and then we're having cookies from Hope's Cookies for dessert!

Mr. Pit has already claimed his stake to the left over pasta and salad since he has class tonight, and M and I have agreed to share our pasta nummyness with him :) He needs sustenance as he has 2 fantasy football drafts this week one of which is tonight after class.

Anyways, that's all I have going on, I hope you all are enjoying this amazing weather!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Hot hot hot!

Holy hotness batman! Philadelphia is determined to jack my AC bill through the roof this August and it doesn't show any sign of quitting. A thunderstorm here or there just isn't breaking this humidity, yikes! Anyways, I am sitting in the comfort of my air conditioned trailer, so I can't get too upset, but I think of the guys on my jobsite and I am wishing them lots of cool breezes up there in the building!

Anyways, some fun weekend stuff has started to come up, so it should be a nice relaxing weekend on the Main Line yet again.

Mr. Pit is playing golf on Saturday morning and I plan on using that time to sleep in and hit up Target to use my $25 gift card that I got for spending so much on my Visa...who knew shopping would one day pay me! Oh, and speaking of shopping, I scored a super cute tank top from Lilly last weekend in NYC and also got Mr. Pit some super cute shorts with Rhino's on them, for $39!!

Then we are going out to dinner with my parents to welcome some of their friends in town, and so I can meet their daughter who will be a freshman at Johns Hopkins this fall. I am a HUGE advocate of my alma mater, and I love getting to chat with people who are excited to attend. I am a part of the Engineering Alumni Association and I am always happy to chat about my experiences at school.

Sunday I am picking up my best friend and newly engaged C from the train with her fiance S, and then they are spending the week down in Avalon and I am sure they will spend quite a bit of time wedding planning. YAYAYAYAY!! I am so excited and happy for these two, and I can't wait to rehash all of my wedding planning memories and help them through this really really fun (and sometimes stressful) time!

So, it's a slow quiet weekend and I can't wait. I also get to go have lunch with my friend J who's last day at my company today as she is off to DC to start grad school. I will miss you so much J!!! But, one last lunch and some window shopping will stave off my sadness for at least a little while :)

I hope everyone is enjoying their weeks, and I was so happy to get 3 comments yesterday on my post, that's a blog record, horray! Now I guess I just have to keep picking controversial topics to keep my readership up, just kidding. I will stick to fun Lilly-fied bright posts, it's summer after all!!

NYC, Gift Show, Engagement!

Hi all,
So I am back and exhausted from a really fun weekend in NYC.

Just a few things to highlight the amazing weekend as if I wrote about the entire thing you'd all get bored at leave.

#1 My best friend C, who I stayed with this weekend got engaged yesterday morning! I cried in the middle of the gift show when she told me on the phone. In front of customers, and security people. And I don't care. I have NEVER seen her more happy as I did this weekend I am so happy for her and S to start their life together. Also, our future kids are going to be BFF and we picked out outfits for them at Lilly on Saturday :)

#2 The Gift Show is the most unbelievable place I have ever been. Overwhelming doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of how large and overwhelming this place is. I don't know how long it took them to build the Javits center (but I should, being in construction and all) but I have never been in a larger indoor space in my life. INSANE. The number of vendors was ASTOUNDING!!

#3 Bungalow ROCKS. I had SO much fun working the booth, meeting people and helping to sell products to new stores. It's really easy since the product basically sells itself and it's great to be a part of it. Plus, the people I got to work with were really fun and helpful and we had a great time despite being on our feet from 8-6 yesterday!

#4 My feet STILL hurt!

#5 I met Alyssa Tierney yesterday in my wanderings around the show floor and she COULDN'T have been nicer or more helpful. I was a huge fan already and now my fandom has grown :)

#6 Dinner at Peter Lugars was fun, but unfortunately it was due to our amazing company as opposed to our unparalleled dinner service. The waiter didn't even ask us how we were when he approached the table. Seriously he said 3 words to us the entire evening. Now, I don't like waiters who hover, but come on, at least engage us a little bit!

#7 Dinner at Peter Lugars is STILL in my belly. Steak was delicious, bacon was fabulous, potatoes were amazing and the spinach is their best side by far, as I already had heard. Total Yum. I just wanted a friendly smile and some banter with our waiter.

#8 I feel like I ran a marathon yesterday. We got home at midnight and I think I was asleep in 10 minutes after walking in the door. The alarm going off this morning at 6 am was the most unwelcoming sound I've ever heard. I am definitely taking a nap this evening before dinner and going to bed early!!

I hope you all had great weekends as well! If you ever get the chance to go to the gift show, DO IT, it's a site to see! Just wear good shoes and drink water, you put on miles and don't even realize it :)

Have a fabulous week,
xoxo Mrs. Pit

oh no!

My favorite dress from the fall collection is sold out online! Hopefully they have it at the Ardmore or King of Prussia stores, eek!

It's just so perfect with the rolled collar, oh well, I'll find it!!

Last Day

Hi all,
So today is my last day of work...for 4 whole days! I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but with the vacations that we have taken recently, the average is a day and a half for a wedding where most of the time we're in a car...so the fact that I don't have to go to work again until Monday is pretty incredible.

We are heading up to Albany tomorrow morning and then spending the day Friday in Saratoga and coming back for the wedding, and then Saturday we are headed to Saratoga again for the races.
I have my Lilly dress all picked out as well as my hat with my big pink and blue ribbon :)

Lilly Pulitzer is also holding an event at the Pink Paddock, a Lilly Via shop up there on Saturday, so I am doing my best to convince Mr. Pit that it's a stop we MUST make!

I have three dresses picked out for the weekend, a black Limited one shoulder number that I miraculously found in my closet at my parents house, and even more miraculously, STILL FITS! I think the last time I wore it was 2001, MAYBE 2002...thank god for lycra!

My dress for the wedding is my floral Badgely Mischka that it kind of my go-to semi-formal wedding dress but I haven't decided on shoes. Last summer I wore it with green suede heels that ended up coming off not soon after the ceremony, so this time I might go with a lower black pair, but we'll see.

Then, my dress for Saratoga is a white Lilly shift with silver accents. I may bring a spare pink and green shift just in case I don't want to wear something so form fitting (it's not a normal spacious Lilly cut) and the other one is roomier, so we'll see. It might be really hot, in which case I'll wear the green and pink so it will breath.

And of course I only have the one picture...this is the dress for the races :)

I won't be doing a furry Friday post this week as we're not bringing the MacBook, but I'll make up for it next week I promise!

Hope you all have great weekends!
xoxo Mrs. Pit

Furry Friday

Hi all!
First I want to thank everyone for the kind words. My Grandmother was amazing and will be truly missed by all that knew her. I thank you all for the support!

Also, Lauren Nicole is doing an amazing giveaway, so go here to enter! It's lots of Lilly stuff, go now!!

Last but not least...here is the dog of the day!

Meet Erica!

Erica is a Portuguese Water Dog/Bearded Collie and is one of the cutest mutts I've seen to date. You can be just like the Obama's with your cute Porty mix...isn't she a doll?! She is just 2 years old and loves all other dogs, so take her home today!!

What is better for the first weekend in August than to get a dog to bring home? Nothing!! Erica is such a cutie, you'll be the talk of the town :)

Have a great weekend!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

Furry Friday!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to a rainy Furry Friday :) It is kind of icky here in Philly today, but honestly, can you actually look at this little face and NOT smile? He is a ray of sunshine in his own right for sure. This is Hobey. Hobey is a lab mix and will celebrate his first birthday this September, so Hobey's still a young pup! He is super friendly and the staff at Main Line Animal Rescue couldn't be happier with this guy around. The only way they would is if YOU brought him home!

Check out his page at MLAR HERE or check out your local PETFINDER for a dog in your area!

I was supposed to play in a golf outing this afternoon but since it's pouring here in the City of Brotherly Love it was canceled, so instead I'll work the whole day and spend a quiet night with Mr. Pit (which I am actually quite thrilled about!)

Yesterday was a really hard and long day, as the funeral was one of the saddest I have ever attended. It is one thing to go to funerals of Grandparents and distant relatives, and it's a whole different story when the person was 28 and a good friend (and a brother of one of your best friends and fiancee of another) so this was particularly brutal, but I managed to get through it with little mascara stains even though I cried the whole time. Andrew will be missed more than he probably ever realized.

The Lilly sale on the other hand was more uplifting, but honestly I was disappointed at the range of clothes available. Yes they had tons of shoes and bathing suits, but I still think that $60 is a ridiculous price to pay for a bikini, and otherwise it was nothing spectacular. The polos were blah (and I already have one in almost every color) and the sweaters were non existent since it is summer...and the dresses, well...they didn't do anything for me. The men's stuff was better (I got my brother a fabulous white linen jacket for $30!) and my Mom and I bought all the men in the family matching madras pants for $10 each!

I ended up spending $137 which is a record low for me (last fall I went home $475 lighter in the wallet) but I guess with the recession it's a good thing. They didn't have ANY Jubilee pieces and none of the stuff I expected to see...but, I'll go back in the Fall and hopefully it will be better.

Anyways, I have a lot of work to do since I was out yesterday, but make sure to check out Petfinder or Main Line Animal Rescue for dogs and cats that you can rescue this weekend!

Enjoy! xoxo Mrs. Pit

Oh, and congrats to Blue Eyed Bride who had a baby boy this morning! Check out her twitter page for all the details, he's a cutie!!

Any sale updates?

So, I am a hardcore Lilly fan, but not so much as to get to the warehouse sale a whole day before and camp out. I mean, I love her stuff, just not so much at 3am on a Tuesday night...especially since I am lucky enough to live so close to the sale and headquarters themselves, I can't imagine sleeping on the floor or in a hotel when I could be in my own cozy bed.

Anyways...for those of you that ARE hardcore enough to do that, did you find anything this morning? Prep-E girl, I expect a full report!

I am going tomorrow morning and I am hoping hoping hoping that I find the Saemus dress!!

Not much happening today, Mr. Pit has class tonight so I will probably have something deeply fabulous for dinner like Macaroni or grilled cheese, and then I have to do a lot of studying as well as the clock is ticking down to the 30th!!

Hope everyone has a great day and that your dog didn't keep YOU up barking all night at the thunder!
