11 weeks...

Hi everyone,
so the littlest Pit is now 11 weeks old and she is more and more charming by the day.

She went through a phase where she was waking up in the middle of the night, but for the most part she is sleeping from 9:30 to 5:30 and it's awesome.

She is also moving a LOT in her crib and we've had to remove the bumper in her crib because she was scooting herself into it each night nearly giving us a heart attack in the morning because she'd be squished up against it...terrifying! But, she is just fine, and the crib still looks cute without the bumper.

We are still swaddling her and are a little nervous to transition her out of the swaddle as we are supposed to next week, but we'll see. She still flings her arms all around, so I think the first days of non-swaddling could be long ones for all of us, but like everything else in parenting, we're going to play it by ear and see what happens.

In other fun news, my Mom, Little Pit and I are headed up to Squam Lake, New Hampshire for 10 days on July 22nd. I am so excited to spend time up there, it is my favorite place on earth and I am thrilled that Little Pit can spend some of her first summer up there. Mom and I plan on doing a lot of relaxing on the dock, swimming, maybe some hiking and definitely some outlet shopping :)

Other than that, there isn't a lot going on. Gymboree is going well, Little Pit seems to like it as much as I do, and I've made a new friend out of it as well, which is worth the price of the class 100 fold.

Hoping this stormy weather passes soon, it's tough to not be able to run errands or take walks...plus, Little Pup LOVES to bark at the thunder, so it's not as relaxing as it could be!

And last but not least, congratulations to Erin from According to Erin as she just found out that she is expecting a little girl in December!!

Hope all is well with everyone, and as always, here's a pic of the little darling :)

Hi there Blogland!

So sorry for the incredibly long delay in posts. The little one is SO wonderful and makes us so happy, but since it requires two hands to type, there isn't so much time for that these days!

Some updates on the Little Pit:
*Last Thursday she weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 14.5 ounces, and at her 8 week appointment today I am almost positive she will have broken 10 pounds...I can't believe how fast she grows!

*The last two night she has slept through the night. 2 nights ago was 9:30 to 5:30 and last night was 9:45 to 6:30. As if I didn't love the child enough already!

*She loves her mobile. She can stare at it for the longest time, just fascinated by it. Then she squeals and moves her arms and legs all over the place...too flipping cute.

*She also loves her swing. She stares at the rainforest animals until she falls asleep. AMAZING thing and worth every penny, thanks Amazon!

*The Swaddle Me blanket by Kiddopotomus MUST get a Nobel Peace Prize, or a prize of that nature. It is the only thing that works to get her to sleep so now we own 3...and they are SO easy to use and she is such a good sleeper now that we have her wrapped in that thing. BRILLIANT.

*She loves her Vitamin D drops...I think she thinks it is candy or something. Again, adorable.

*She smiles now. REAL smiles with a giggle thrown in every once in a while. Though elusive to the camera, she just about bowls me over every time she does it.

Anyways, now that she's asleep again I'm going to try get some more shut eye before she wakes up again.

All is well with Mr. Pit and I as well, it is our 4 year wedding anniversary on Thursday...it's gone so quickly!

Hope all is well with everyone, here's a picture of the Little Pit herself :)

I'm here I'm here!

Sorry for the lack of posts, it's amazing how an 8 pound being can be so darn time consuming! We are surviving though, and the little miss is up to a whopping 8 pounds, 2 ounces...she's gaining pretty slowly, but gaining nonetheless. She is sleeping ok at night, she is a very good little alarm clock, going off consistently at 3 hour intervals, but the doctor assured me she would start sleeping better in a week or two when her tummy gets a bit bigger. She is 1 month old today and I can't believe how fast the time has gone! I have been able to get out and about though, Mr. Pit babysat last weekend and allowed me to get a mani/pedi, and since she loves the car I have been able to meet people for lunch and errands, so that has been great as well!

I do of course have another reason for this post...as this might be the CUTEST thing I have EVER heard of, and I am SO sad that I don't live in this town in Florida...I think I would go EVERY week for sure! Little Pup would hate that I came home smelling of other dogs every week but there is NOTHING like playing with a puppy!!

Here is the scoop, at the Southeast Guide Dog school, the puppies are let go to play with the public for a few hours every day. This is so that the puppies can interact with people of all ages, abilities, tones of voices and everything else that makes every person different. The puppies have to be able to work with anyone they are assigned to, and the more comfortable they are with all different kinds of people from the start, the better.

You can show up every morning at 9am and they let all the dogs out to play with whomever is there. You can snuggle them, play with them, walk them around, whatever you want, they encourage all kinds of interaction. HOW cool is that? You can read the article HERE ...seriously SO adorable!!!

Anyways, that's about all that's going on, I'll do my best to do a Furry Friday post tomorrow but I have to go out to the mall and we are going to dinner at the club (it's lobster night, yum!!) I'll try though :)

I hope all is well with everyone, and here's a gratuitous baby picture just for fun :)

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Pit Interruption

Just wanted to let everyone know how great Mrs. Pit is as a mom and wife. She is working round the clock to take care of me and our daughter. I know all of her readers are eagerly awaiting her next post and I am sure one will come soon. Mrs. Pit has been wonderful taking care of our daughter who has been a little bit cranky of late. Daughter Pit is probably going through the 2-3 week growth spurt right now and sleep has been little to close to nothing at times over the last couple of days. Mrs. Pit has been waking up throughout the night so I can get some sleep since I am back to work and can not nap during the day. This has helped me out a lot and I love that Mrs. Pit is concerned about my sleep. She has more than enough on her plate taking care of Daughter Pit 24/7. I knew Mrs. Pit would be a great mom and she still exceeds my expectations on a daily basis. I love her more than yesterday as always.

A 1st Mothers Day

My first Mother's Day was wonderful. We haven't been getting much sleep in these parts (but does anyone with a 2 week old?) and somehow we still managed to make it to Mother's Day brunch at the club on Sunday with the whole family.

The whole staff at the club was enamored with the little one, who of course decided to take a 2 hour nap during the whole event, and we found out her picture is not only in the kitchen of the club but also in the pro shop :) We also got lots of offers to baby sit as well, and we'll definitely take people up on it if they're not careful!

Mr. Pit also surprised me with a beautiful ring that was very hard to take off, but it's way too fancy for normal daytime wear...didn't he do a great job? It's really nice too because sapphires are my birthstone and diamonds are Little Pits, so it was a perfect ring for my first Mother's Day. We are also lucky that she wasn't late because May's birthstone is Emerald...but his plan worked!

Otherwise we're a little exhausted but very happy over here. Mr. Pit has been great and been so helpful around the house and with dinners and everything, we are very lucky to have married such a great guy.

Here are some pics of the little miss and my surprise :)

I hope everyone had great weekends and fabulous Mother's Days for those Mom's out there!

The inlaws are in town tomorrow and we have lots of other visitors scheduled for the week, yay!

I can't say when I'll be blogging again, it's amazing how close the laptop is but how far away it can seem with an infant that needs tending...but I'll try to be better, I promise!

Introducing...

Miss Little Pit :)
She was born at 8:35 am yesterday, weighing in at 7lbs, 7 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.

She has a full head of blonde hair which the nurses here just gush over. Every time they bring her into us they say "this is the baby with the beautiful hair, we love her!" and of course, Mr. Pit and I are madly in love with her as well. She makes the cutest little bird noises, but the girl has some pipes and will let you know pretty quickly when she's not a happy camper. For the most part though she has been very sleepy but was quick to nurse and by the late afternoon we had gotten the hang of things thanks to help from the nurses.

I was very lucky labor wise since it only lasted 10 hours, but boy oh boy, I can see why people wait years between kids! It was an amazing experience and I am still in awe that my body could even make a baby and then to deliver it to boot is just insane, but an amazing happy wonderful insane :)

I believe I get discharged tomorrow (Thursday) and will post more pictures when I get more, but for now, here are a few of our newest love :)

Mr. Pit and his daughter...he is really amazing with her, just like I knew he would be!
The little miss with her shocking blonde locks...doesn't she look like a little surfer girl? Too funny :)

Have a great week!

Baby Progress

Hi this is Mr. Pitt here. Mrs. Pitt's water broke at 10:15 PM on Monday, April 26. We made a Virgo like packing job on our hospital bags; meaning we had this all planned out well in advance and we finished packing up the necessities like toiletries, the camera, laptop and ipod. Mrs. Pitt is doing great. Contractions are progressing. Funny story of the day is one of my business colleagues told me the way to get the baby out was through pepperoni pizza, a glass of red wine and some intimate time. We made it through the pepperoni pizza and when Mrs. Pitt stood up to go to bed she heard a pop and her water was broken. So if you need to push out a baby, head for the pepperoni pizza. Not sure there will be any more updates until the baby comes. I am guessing no. Contractions and labor are progressing as they should. Mrs. Pitt is a trooper and I can not wait to welcome our child into the world with her. Lots of love to all.
