Oh hey!

Long time!

So, we've been quite busy here in the Pit house so I'll go through a little list of what we've been up to.

We went to Linvilla Orchards which is this awesome orchard (obviously) pretty close to our house. They have all sorts of wonderful food (the donuts are delicious!) and tons of pumpkins and all sorts of fun fall treats. Little Pit wasn't so sure about sitting in the pumpkin pile, but we'll try again in October. That same day we went from having yummy donuts to having Little Pit try her first ice cream cone. It was a hit and she didn't even get that dirty! (Mini cones from Trader Joes)



The weather has been really awful around here lately. Super humid, really cloudy and rainy and just plain no fun. So, instead of going to a park with a friend, we did a play date at Target. At one point we blocked off the entire toy aisle with our carts and let them go to town. It was hilarious and they had a great time playing with all the toys. We then had to put everything back, but it was worth it for killing almost 2 hours on a rainy morning!


We finally got a nice day on Monday afternoon so Little Pit and I ventured up to the park. She used to hate the swings but now that she knows how to hold on she loves them. I am pushing her Grandparents for a swing set for Christmas, but even if that fails the park is nice and close :)


Friday Little Pit and I are doing a girls day in Manhattan to visit my best friend B. B is a PhD candidate and has very little time between classes, her thesis and her clinical work, so we're going up there to spend one of her few free days with her. We are really excited about it and I can't wait to catch up with her since I haven't seen her since our anniversary party in June. We've been friends since we were 9 and know each other so well that it shouldn't take anytime at all for us to fall back into the easy friendship we've always had.

THEN...Sunday we go down to the Outer Banks for a week. We are going with 5 other couples and will have 3 children and 2 dogs too. It's a 9 bedroom house up on the 4x4 beach and we have a heated pool and hot tub, booyah! I can't wait to sit in the hot tub with a cold beer when Little Pit goes to bed every night. The baby monitor will of course be right next to me, but this mama needs some DOWNTIME. (No one ever told me that staying home with a child would be this fun but also this tiring!) We are having a photographer come to the house on Tuesday to take pictures of all the families and we're hoping to get both our Christmas card picture out of it as well as presents for the Grandparents, the Godparents and anyone else who wants pictures of Little Pit!

I am so flipping excited for vacation I am astounded at myself that I haven't started packing yet. My excuse is that it's so hot and humid that I don't want to start packing shorts and shirts that Little Pit and I will want to wear in the next couple of days, so I'll do a big laundry day on Friday and pack Saturday and head down Sunday with clean fresh clothes ready to play on the beach for a week.

So, that's what's been happening. Tonight we're headed down to my parents house to celebrate my older brothers 35th birthday. We're hopefully grilling if the weather stays cooperative, and I love any excuse to hang out with my family during the week (we also see them every Sunday for dinner).
