So...I turned 30

I turned 30 on Monday and I have to tell you, being 30 has been great so far, all 2 days of it :)

We had friends over on Monday night to celebrate the occasion, (Mr. Pit turned 36 on Thursday, so it was a full weekend of birthday fun) and it was a perfect low key night, just like we wanted.

Little Pit also got into the fun, as you can see from the picture below :)

(And before you go reporting us to authorities, it was empty and she never took any kind of sip, she is just loves to reach for things. )

It was a great Labor Day weekend, hope you enjoyed yours as well!

And here's one more picture just for good measure, she loves her Bumbo now and it's so great to have her be able to sit in it for a bit to play

Guess who found her toes?

LITTLE PIT!!

She is a complete gem.

She sleeps from 8pm to 8am and takes 2 naps during the day. When she is awake she is smiling, giggling and just happy to be alive and part of the action.

She still isn't a huge fan of her baths, but she tolerates them and has the face to prove it. She loves her after bath dance parties though (we wrap her in a towel and sing to her in the bathroom) and giggles at the two of us trying to sing along with the radio.

We are still a couple of months away from any sort of solids, but our feedings are lovely and I love spending the time snuggling with her at each meal.

She ADORES Mr. Pit and smiles as wide as the ocean itself when he walks into a room. She is also fascinated by her 'brother', Lil' Pup, and he with her. He loves to lick her hands and feet and every once in a while gets a full face lick in. She giggles all the way through it, so we are quite pleased with the progress she has made with him.

That's about all that's happening at the Pit house, we're hopefully getting some landscaping done in the next month, so I'll keep you updated with photos if it happens!

Hope everyone has had great weekends!

xoxo Mrs. Pit

We're Back!

Hi everyone,
so the little one and I are back from our trip to New Hampshire and we had a great time.

My mom and I made it to one set of outlets over the past 10 days, but otherwise the weather was WAY too good to be anywhere but on the dock. I got some great tops from Banana and a trip to the outlets wouldn't be complete without a new cable knit sweater from Ralph Lauren :)

Little Pit spent her time on the dock in her bouncy seat under a towel (babies can't be in the sun AT ALL, nor can you put sunblock on them...so you have to plan EVERYTHING!!) so that solved that, and she seemed to have a great time.

We also got to see our friends K and E, and their new baby W...too cute!

Otherwise it was a ton of relaxing, eating, sleeping and enjoying the crisp New England weather. We also did a ton of weeding around the house...the ferns were out of control, but everything else looked great.

I didn't take that many pictures, as we didn't really go anywhere and I was nervous about having the camera on the dock so close to the water...but here are a few :)

This week is pretty quiet for us, but the weekend will be great with a party for my best friend C and her Fiance, and then we're headed to Kennett Square on Sunday for lunch at Talula's Table, yum!!

Little Pit on the dock :)

The lillies in the garden are LOVING the weather this summer :)

Little Pit being SUPER helpful while Mom and I weed...

Have a great week!

11 weeks...

Hi everyone,
so the littlest Pit is now 11 weeks old and she is more and more charming by the day.

She went through a phase where she was waking up in the middle of the night, but for the most part she is sleeping from 9:30 to 5:30 and it's awesome.

She is also moving a LOT in her crib and we've had to remove the bumper in her crib because she was scooting herself into it each night nearly giving us a heart attack in the morning because she'd be squished up against it...terrifying! But, she is just fine, and the crib still looks cute without the bumper.

We are still swaddling her and are a little nervous to transition her out of the swaddle as we are supposed to next week, but we'll see. She still flings her arms all around, so I think the first days of non-swaddling could be long ones for all of us, but like everything else in parenting, we're going to play it by ear and see what happens.

In other fun news, my Mom, Little Pit and I are headed up to Squam Lake, New Hampshire for 10 days on July 22nd. I am so excited to spend time up there, it is my favorite place on earth and I am thrilled that Little Pit can spend some of her first summer up there. Mom and I plan on doing a lot of relaxing on the dock, swimming, maybe some hiking and definitely some outlet shopping :)

Other than that, there isn't a lot going on. Gymboree is going well, Little Pit seems to like it as much as I do, and I've made a new friend out of it as well, which is worth the price of the class 100 fold.

Hoping this stormy weather passes soon, it's tough to not be able to run errands or take walks...plus, Little Pup LOVES to bark at the thunder, so it's not as relaxing as it could be!

And last but not least, congratulations to Erin from According to Erin as she just found out that she is expecting a little girl in December!!

Hope all is well with everyone, and as always, here's a pic of the little darling :)

Hi there Blogland!

So sorry for the incredibly long delay in posts. The little one is SO wonderful and makes us so happy, but since it requires two hands to type, there isn't so much time for that these days!

Some updates on the Little Pit:
*Last Thursday she weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 14.5 ounces, and at her 8 week appointment today I am almost positive she will have broken 10 pounds...I can't believe how fast she grows!

*The last two night she has slept through the night. 2 nights ago was 9:30 to 5:30 and last night was 9:45 to 6:30. As if I didn't love the child enough already!

*She loves her mobile. She can stare at it for the longest time, just fascinated by it. Then she squeals and moves her arms and legs all over the place...too flipping cute.

*She also loves her swing. She stares at the rainforest animals until she falls asleep. AMAZING thing and worth every penny, thanks Amazon!

*The Swaddle Me blanket by Kiddopotomus MUST get a Nobel Peace Prize, or a prize of that nature. It is the only thing that works to get her to sleep so now we own 3...and they are SO easy to use and she is such a good sleeper now that we have her wrapped in that thing. BRILLIANT.

*She loves her Vitamin D drops...I think she thinks it is candy or something. Again, adorable.

*She smiles now. REAL smiles with a giggle thrown in every once in a while. Though elusive to the camera, she just about bowls me over every time she does it.

Anyways, now that she's asleep again I'm going to try get some more shut eye before she wakes up again.

All is well with Mr. Pit and I as well, it is our 4 year wedding anniversary on Thursday...it's gone so quickly!

Hope all is well with everyone, here's a picture of the Little Pit herself :)

xoxo Mrs.Pit
